Course Description:

The course examines opportunities in related professional and career paths, including graduate education and teaching credential preparation.
Narrative:
As a senior ready to graduate in the spring, it was somewhat awkward taking WLC 300 now, since it is a class you are supposed to take when you start your upper-division classes; not when you are near graduating. Some classes were not very helpful for me personally, such as the one class we talked about studying abroad. That class was useless to me, since I had just come back from studying abroad. In comparison to the classes I did not enjoy, there were many more that I enjoyed and learned quite a lot from. Although I love my major Japanese Language and Culture, I knew that job prospect in my major were few and far between. What this class taught me was that this may not be the case. You can use language skills in almost all types of workplaces which expanded my knowledge of the field I want to spend the rest of my life in. The other class that I though was really important for me was the class where they taught us how to make the website that you are viewing right now. I do not consider myself very tech savvy, so when the instructors told me that we had to make an e-portfolio as part of our graduation, if felt very daunting. Once were given hands on experience in creating the website, everything became easier and I came to enjoy creating this website you see now. This class has expanded my knowledge in the use of newer technologies such and this website, and using Google drive, and has shown me opportunities when I graduate and start my career.
